Our story so far
2010
The Evangelical Alliance Council was challenged by Bishop Wilton Powell and Pastor Agu Irukwu on unity across ethnic divides.
2011
A national church leaders’ gathering at Jesus House agreed to establish a commission.
2012
The OPC was birthed and Rev Canon Yemi Adedeji was appointed director.
2013
Christian leaders from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and South America became part of the OPC and a young adult forum of leaders in their 20s and 30s was also launched.
2015
The OPC launched a landmark piece of research on UK young adults’ experiences and concerns on church and faith entitled ‘Building tomorrow’s church today’.
2016
Dr Tani Omideyi, an OPC leader, became the first black and ethnic minority chair of the Evangelical Alliance board.
2017
Steve Clifford and Rev Yemi Adedeji led joint presentations at the Movement Day Conference at Westminster Central Hall and at Spring Harvest Festival as a model of unity for the church.
2018
